Seekers of Wisdom (Grade 6-8)

Our Seekers’ Class is active with field trips to Neighboring Faiths. This group follows a curriculum that normally creates the following ritual:

  • Chalice Lighting Ritual
  • Story
  • Activity
  • Closing Ritual

Activities may include discussion, arts and crafts projects, games or other activities.

Coming of Age (Grade 9-10)

This program offers the participants a chance to explore what Unitarian Universalism means in their lives. The goal of this program is to help the participants to:

  • Explore Social Justice issues and participate in Social Action Projects and Community Service Activities.
  • Examine our Unitarian Universalist Traditions to see how they fit into their everyday lives.
  • Experience Self Discovery and Relationships through the community of COA participants and adult mentors, as well as explore leadership as a viable option for participation.
  • Explore Spirituality and Theological issues and discover how they apply to themselves.

NOTE: Many of our youth also volunteer to teach, fill in as childcare workers, and participate in our Bell Ringer Apprentice Program that allows them to learn how to ring the bells.
