Rev. Dr. Paul G. Hull
has accepted our call to be our minister!
He will arrive September 1, 2010
For more than
a year now, our congregation has been engaged in the search for a full-time settled minister. On Sunday May 16, 2010, Rev. Dr. Paul
G. Hull accepted our call to be our full-time minister. He will assume his duties September 1, 2010.
Rev. Hull is a native of
Kansas, and was educated at the U. of Kansas, where he received his degree in Civil Engineering with graduate work in Environmental
Health Engineering. For some years, he operated his own civil engineering firm. Before enrolling in seminary, he was active in Unitarian
Universalism and was a lay leader.
Rev. Hull attended seminary at the Lancaster Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania where he
earned both a master of divinity degree and a doctor of ministry degree. While a seminary student, he was awarded:
-The Schaff prize
for best paper on the subject of church history,
-The Dietz Prize for outstanding application of the principles of Pastoral theology
-The
Fauth Prize for Academic Excellence
His doctoral dissertation was titled The Sacred Money of Church Endowments: Church Growth
and Revitalization from a Postmodern Economic Perspective
Following completion of seminary in 1995, Rev. Hull served as minister
for Unitarian Universalist congregations in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Massachusetts.
He is a Contributing Author to the book:Awakening the Soul: A Book of Daily Devotions, published by UUA’s Skinner House.
Rev. Hull’s interests include: Music (piano,
recorder, guitar, singing), reading, poetry, hiking, bird watching, traveling, films, and canoeing.
